No. 15/8 Cardinals Set to Host the Battle of the Bluegrass

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The No. 15/8-ranked University of Louisville men's and women's swimming and diving team faces off against their in-state rival, the University of Kentucky, at home on Saturday, January 27, at 1 p.m. inside Ralph Wright Natatorium.

UofL last competed at home Friday, January 5, where they swept Missouri as the Louisville men won 205-89 and the women won 203-96. The Cardinals were led by several first-place finishes in their victories. Winners amongst the women included Christiana Regenauer (100 free, 100 fly, both relays), and Kim Herkle (100- and 200-breast and 400 IM). The men's winners included Denis Petrashov (100- and 200-breast and 200 Medley Relay) and Guy Brooks (200 Free, 100 free, and 400 Free Relay).

UK last competed Saturday, January 13 when they lost at home to the No. 18/19 University of Alabama. The women lost by the score of 163-156, and the men were defeated 175-144. UK's men's team finished fourth in the eight team field and the women were fifth at the Tennessee Invitational in November.

Louisville head coach Arthur Albiero, who was named coach in 2003-04, has a 14-6 versus the UK men and is 9-11 versus the Cats on the women's side.
