March 28, 2023 | Women's Lacrosse
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Six different Cardinals scored as the University of Louisville lacrosse fell 16-6 on Tuesday afternoon to Ohio State at the Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium.
Following the loss, the Cardinals move to 4-7 on the season, 1-4 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. The Buckeyes advanced to 5-7 overall and 0-3 in Big Ten Conference play.
"Unfortunately, we didn't come out of the locker room ready to start the first half," said head coach Scott Teeter. "We got behind and when you're playing from behind, it's an uphill battle."
The Buckeyes scored the first five goals in the first quarter before Kylea Dobson found the net on an assist from Tiffany Natoli. Natoli dished another assist to Allegra Catalano a minute later, to bring the Cards within three goals to end the first quarter.
Ohio State was the first to score in the second quarter but Nicole Perroni quickly answered back, scoring her 27th goal of the season. The Buckeyes scored again but Kokoro Nakazawa found the back of the net with a free position goal to bring the score within three. The teams entered half time with Ohio State leading 7-4.
The Buckeyes scored seven goals in the second quarter. Hannah Morris earned her 126th goal with just under eight minutes remaining on an assist from Rachel Lifson.
Ohio State scored two more in the fourth quarter. Izzy Seikel scored for the second straight game on a pass from Rachel Lifson.
Sara Addeche guarded the net for 45:00 minutes and recorded eight saves with a .364 save percentage. J Pleck and Aubrey Bagenstose both saw minutes in goal.
Perroni extended her goal-scoring streak and point-scoring streak to 31. She added three caused turnovers and a team-high seven draw controls.
Maggie Foster had one ground ball and two caused turnovers, while Rachel Lifson had two assists and two draw controls.
UofL travels to Clemson for its second-straight road game on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET.
