UofL records two singles wins and a doubles win in the first round of play

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The University of Louisville women's tennis team completed the first day of singles at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional in Knoxville on the campus of the University of Tennessee Thursday afternoon at Barksdale Stadium.

The Cardinals recorded two singles wins and a doubles win in the first day of competition.

The six-day event kicked off Wednesday with qualifying action and concludes on Monday with the singles and doubles main draw championships. All seven of the Cardinals' singles players will be in the Main Draw with four sets of doubles partners competing in the Main Draw as well. Draws will be posted after the qualifying rounds on Wednesday.

The tournament features teams from around the Ohio Valley, including Appalachian State, Belmont, Butler, Chattanooga, Cincinnati, Dayton, Eastern Kentucky, ETSU, Indiana, IUPUI, Kentucky, Lipscomb, Louisville, Memphis, Miami Ohio, MTSU, Murray State, Northern Kentucky, Purdue, Tennessee State, Southern Indiana, Vanderbilt and Xavier.
