Emina Ekic Named to Top Drawer Soccer's Best XI Team

Ekic earns her second national honor this season
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Louisville junior Emina Ekic was named a third team Best XI by Top Drawer Soccer. It is the second national honor for Ekic this season. The Best XI awards are selected by the TopDrawerSoccer.com staff, with the entirety of the season taken into account for consideration.
Most recently, Ekic was named a second team All-American by the United Soccer Coaches association for the second straight year. She also earned first team all-region honors after completing her best season to date. She also earned first team All-ACC honors for the second straight year, and third straight All-ACC postseason honor.
Ekic finished the season as the team's leading scorer with eight goals and eight assists for 24 points. She also led the team in assists. Ekic converted a career-high 3 of 4 penalty kicks on the year. While also finishing the year with five game-winning goals, ranking her third in the ACC and 27th nationally.
Ekic was also ranked as the No. 25 player in the nation by Top Drawer Soccer. The junior earned ACC Offensive Player of the Week honors once this season and was named to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week three times. She earned preseason All-ACC honors and was named to the Hermann Trophy Watch List.
