Cardinals Advance to ACC Tournament with 3-0 Win Over SMU

Louisville finished the regular season undefeated at home for first time in program history
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 21 Louisville women's soccer team (13-3-2, 6-2-2 ACC) defeated SMU (8-8-2, 2-6-2 ACC) 3-0 Thursday night at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium. The Cardinals collected their 13th win of the season and sixth in ACC play.
With the win, the Cardinals advance to the ACC Tournament for the first time since 2020. Brooklyn Lee tallied her first career goal, as well as Fina Davy with her first goal of the season. Erynn Floyd collected her 10th clean sheet of the season with three saves on the night. She leads the ACC in shutouts this season and has started in all 12 shutouts for the Cards
For the first time in program history, the Cards were undefeated at home (10-0-1). They outscored opponents at Lynn Stadium 44-3 over the 11 games. Louisville only allowed goals in two of the 11 games and had a seven-game shutout streak at home in the middle of the season.
The first half of play remained scoreless. The Cards out shot the Mustangs 9-to-4, and their best chance came on a through ball to Emersen Jennings but it was saved by SMU's goalkeeper, Aubrey Brown.
Louisville came out of halftime on the front foot. The Cards had their foot on the gas and never looked back.
In the 52nd minute, Jennings found the back of the net on an assist from Liza Suydam and Amelia Swinarski. The Cards kept it going with a goal in the 64th minute from Lee, her first career goal, assisted by Huckaby.
Davy added to the scoring with her first goal of the season in the 71st minute, assisted by Huckaby. Davy's goal gave the Cardinals their second-straight game with three goals scored.
Up next for the Cardinals is postseason play as they are the No. 6 seed in the 2025 Ally ACC Women's Soccer Championship. The Cardinals are set to travel to Durham to take on No. 3 seed Duke on Sunday, November 2. The Cardinals and Blue Devils will square off at 6 p.m. ET and it will be broadcast on the ACC Network.
