Cards Defeat Akron in Dominant Fashion

Swinarski collected her first brace of the season and Jodoin tallied three assists on the day
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's soccer team took down Akron in a dominant 5-0 win on Sunday at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
The Cards had a strong start to the match with their first goal coming in the 12th minute from Lisa Suydam. Jodoin placed a cross on the six-yard box and Suydam was there to put it in the back of the net. Soon after, Swinarski found her first goal of the day with assists from Suydam and Jodoin. About two minutes later she earned her second goal of the day from an assist by Karina Peat. The Cardinals finished the half with 9 shots on goal.
The Louisville Cardinals came out of the break with a mission. Ka. Peat scored just seven minutes into the second half with another assist from Jodoin. Throughout the half the Cards had multiple chances to get another point on the board. They found their answer when Abby Cox checked in and collected the final goal of the day for Louisville.
The Cards will be back in action on Thursday, September 3 to take on the University of Kentucky. The match will start at 7:30 p.m. in Lexington, Ky and will be broadcast on SEC Network Extra.
