Cards Produce Clean Sheet in Win over Belmont

The win marks back-to-back matches where the Cards scored five goals with five different goal scorers
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Louisville women's soccer team (2-1-0) picked up a 5-0 win over Belmont (1-2-1) Sunday night at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
The victory produced a flurry of firsts for Louisville. After missing the 2025 season due to injury, Taylor Wilson earned her first career goal. Nicole Jodoin, AG Gibson and Brooklyn Lee collected their first goals of the season as well as Kiley Peat notched her first career assist.
The Louisville Cardinals came out with fire. In just the 10th minute, Lee found Swinarski at the box for the first goal of the half. Minutes later, Lee found the back of the net herself with an assist from Liz Eddy, which gave Louisville a 2-0 lead going into the break.
In the 75th minute, Gibson grabbed the first goal of the half off a pass from Swinarski. Jodoin joined the score sheet in the 78th minute with an unassisted goal from outside the box. With less than five minutes left in the match, Wilson put in the final goal off a corner from Ki. Peat to give the Cards the 5-0 win.
Louisville commanded the offense with a 19-2 edge in shots while having possession of 71% of the contest.
The Cardinals will hit the road for the first time this season to take on the Dayton Flyers on Thursday, August 27th. The match is set to kickoff at 7 p.m. ET and will be streamed on ESPN+.
