Rose Lavelle of the USWNT Will Make an Appearance at Friday's Match

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Rose Lavelle, a member of the U.S. Women's National Team, will make an appearance at the 16th ranked University of Louisville women's soccer match against No. 11 Duke at 5:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18. The match is part of a double-header with the UofL men's team.
The 2019 World Cup Champion will participate in a fan Q&A at halftime. Fans are encouraged to submit their questions this week through the Louisville Women's Soccer team's Twitter and Facebook accounts @ULWomensSoccer.
Lavelle will sign autographs between the women's and men's matches. Autographs will be limited to one item per person. Soccer balls, apparel, and photos will be permitted in the stadium to be signed. Additional items are at the discretion of stadium security.
Fans who arrive early will be entered into a drawing to win a US Women's National Team jersey signed by Lavelle.
A clear bag policy is in effect for all University of Louisville Athletic events, including soccer matches at Lynn Stadium. For more information, visit www.gocards.com/clearbag.

ABOUT ROSE LAVELLE
Lavelle started six games for the United States in the 2019 France World Cup, scored three goals, and was awarded the Bronze Ball at the FIFA Women's World Cup awards as the third best player in the tournament. She was short-listed as one world's twelve best players for the The BEST FIFA Football Awards 2019 (finishing 6th), and was chosen as one of the world's top three midfielders by her professional peers in the 2019 FIFA FIFPro World XI.
Prior to her professional career, she played for the University of Wisconsin. While at Wisconsin, Lavelle was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2013. She was the Big Ten Midfielder of the Year in 2015 and 2016. She was a Hermann Trophy semi-finalist in 2015 and was named a NSCAA First Team All-American. She finished her career at Wisconsin as a three-time All-American.
She was the No. 1 overall draft pick at the 2017 NWSL College Draft by the Boston Breakers. Currently, Lavelle plays as a midfielder for the Washington Spirit in the National Women's Soccer League.
Lavelle was called to train with the United States Women's National Soccer Team on November 24, 2015. After the 2015 Women's World Cup, she was one of eight players who joined the Victory Tour of the team. Lavelle represented the United States at multiple youth levels before making her senior international debut in 2017.
