
Stowers, Wyatt Earn All-ACC First Team Honors

Bennett, Wolf named to Second Team; Mann, Miller and Oriente receive Third Team recognition
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville baseball team received eight ACC individual honors on Monday, highlighted by All-ACC First Team selections for outfielder Josh Stowers and first baseman Logan Wyatt.
Monday's announcement marked the first career All-ACC honors for both Stowers and Wyatt. They were joined by All-ACC Second Team starting pitchers Nick Bennett and Adam Wolf as well as All-ACC Third Team honorees Devin Mann (second baseman), Bobby Miller (starting pitcher) and Danny Oriente (designated hitter/utility player). Miller also received ACC All-Freshman Team recognition.
Louisville has registered seven or more All-ACC honorees in each of its four seasons in the conference. The Cardinals have also placed at least one player on the All-Freshman Team all four seasons. Overall, Louisville has accumulated 30 All-ACC selections, five ACC All-Freshman Team honorees and seven ACC major awards in the last four years.
Stowers closed the regular season as the ACC leader in stolen bases with 33 in 40 attempts and runs scored with 60 while also ranking third in on-base percentage (.470), sixth in batting average (.335), sixth in walks (44) and seventh in RBIs (49). He also has seven home runs, 11 doubles and three triples this season. The junior from Westchester, Illinois enters the postseason having reached base safely in a career best 39 straight games
Wyatt leads the ACC in doubles (22) and walks (55) and ranks second in on-base percentage (.481), third in RBIs (56) and eighth in batting average (.332). The sophomore from Louisville started all 56 games this season at first base and scored 43 runs with four home runs.
Bennett enters the ACC Championship ranked second in the conference in ERA (2.12), fourth in wins (seven) and sixth in opponents' batting average (.198). The Cincinnati native and sophomore has a 7-1 record overall with 61 strikeouts in 63.2 innings pitched, including nine starts.
A junior from Milan, Ohio, Wolf is ranked fourth in the ACC in ERA (2.33), fifth in innings pitched (88.2), seventh in strikeouts (96) and seventh in opponents' batting average (.201). He has a 6-2 record while starting all 14 series-openers this season for the nationally ranked Cardinals.
Mann ended the regular season ranked second in the ACC in walks (51), seventh in runs scored (52) and 10th in on-base percentage (.433). A junior from Columbus, Indiana, Mann has a .284 batting average with four home runs, 41 RBIs, 13 doubles, three triples and 52 runs scored in 56 starts at second base.
Miller leads the ACC in ERA among players with a minimum of 1.0 inning pitched per game average registering a 2.08 ERA in his 56.1 innings of work. With 15 appearances and seven starts, Miller also leads the ACC in opponents' batting average (.188) while totaling a 5-1 record and 47 strikeouts in his first collegiate season after arriving in Louisville from McHenry, Illinois. Oriente enters this week's ACC Championship ranked 10th in batting with a .329 average to go along with one home run and 35 RBIs. In his last 30 games, the sophomore from Downers Grove, Illinois has a .382 batting average and 29 RBIs.
No. 5 seeded Louisville (40-16, 18-12 ACC) will begin its pool-play schedule at the 2018 ACC Baseball Championship on Wednesday at 11 a.m., ET against No. 9 Wake Forest at Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, North Carolina. Following Wednesday's game with the Demon Deacons (25-30, 13-17 ACC), the Cardinals will face No. 4 Duke (39-14, 18-11 ACC) in the Pool D finale on Friday at 11 a.m., ET. The Blue Devils and Demon Deacons will play Thursday at 11 a.m.
