
Men's Swimming Sends Four Swimmers and a Relay to Finals at NCAA Championships

Nick Albiero Breaks National Age Group Record in Prelims
On the final day of preliminaries, the University of Louisville will send four swimmers into the finals as well as the 400 freestyle relay team as the 2018 Men's NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships come to a close after four days of racing at the at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota.

In the first event for the Cardinals, Carlos Claverie will swim in the B-final and be seeded ninth after putting up a time of 1:53.42 in the 200 breaststroke. Evgenii Somov posted a 1:55.63 in his heat of the 200 breast but will not return this evening.

In the 200 butterfly, Nicolas Albiero was into the wall in 1:41.04 and Zach Harting went 1:41.84 and both will swim the B-final. Â With Albiero's prelim time of 1:41.04 in the 200 butterfly, he lowered his own National Age Group record. Freshman Daniel Sos won heat 1 with a time of 1:43.70 and Etay Gurevich had a time of 1:44.04 in heat 4.

In the 400 Free Relay, Andrej Barna (43.06), Zach Harting (42.19), Nick Albiero (42.17) and Matyi Kovacs (43.41) shaved .26 off their qualifying time, going 2:50.83!

Marcelo Acosta will swim in the final heat of the 1650 free, which is a timed final.
