
Men's Swimming Sends Four Individuals and a Relay to Finals after Day 3 Prelims at NCAAs

Nicolas Albiero and Evgenii Somov made A Finals for the Cards
The Cardinals will feature four individuals and a relay in the finals after Day 3 of preliminaries at the 2018 Men's NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships Friday morning at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center.

Daniel Sos finished 7th in his heat to touch in 3:43.25 in the 400 IM. Etay Gurevich was third in the final heat of the 400 IM with a time of 3:42.20.

In the 200 freestyle, Zach Harting won Heat 2 with a time of 1:33.16, dropping two and half seconds off his qualifying time. He will return as the ninth-seeded swimmer in the finals. Marcelo Acosta puts up a 1:36.09 in his heat of the 200 freestyle.

Evgenii Somov will swim in the A-final of the 100 breast after posting a 52.28 in prelims. Carlos Claverie put up a 52.29 and qualified 10th overall, earning a second swim and will compete in the B-final.

Nicolas Albiero went 45.05 in the 100-back and will return to race in the A-final. The freshman will be seeded fifth tonight.

The Cardinals' 200 medley relay team of Nicolas Albiero (21.00), Carlos Claverie (23.65), Zach Harting (20.53) and Andrej Barna (18.61) put together a 1:23.79 and made the A-final tonight, seeded eighth.
