No. 3 ranking highest in program history as Cardinals receive their third top five recruiting class ranking in 2018
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville baseball program received its highest recruiting ranking in program history Monday after D1Baseball tabbed the 2018 class at No. 3 in the nation.
Monday's announcement marked the third top four ranking for Louisville's 2018 recruiting class, which ranked No. 4 nationally according to both Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball newspaper. Overall, the class features 15 student-athletes currently enrolled at UofL and participating in fall workouts.
The 2018 class ranking marked the ninth time in the last 11 years Louisville has earned a top 25 national recruiting ranking under the guidance of head coach Dan McDonnell. The Cardinals had the top class in the ACC according to D1Baseball and was among five ACC programs in the top 25 classes – No. 6 Florida State, No. 8 Miami, No. 12 Clemson and No. 17 Virginia.
The Cardinals will continue their preparations for the 2019 season during fall workouts, which will include a pair of intrasquad scrimmages later this week and the program's annual Scout Day activities on Friday afternoon.
