Cards stay unbeaten in the ACC
Janelle Jenkins had 12 kills, two aces and a block to lead the University of Louisville volleyball team to a 25-22, 25-12, 225-21 win over Virginia to keep stay unbeaten in the ACC.
Â
The Cardinals move to 10-0 in conference and are 15-4 overall. The Cavaliers are 6-4 in the ACC and  14-7 overall. UofL hit .373 for the match with 11 blocks and eight aces. Aniah Philo led with six blocks, adding eight kills. Erin Fairs and Aniah Philo each had eight kills with Philo adding six blocks as well. UVA was led by Jasmine Burton's nine kills.
Â
"The only difference in the stats in the first set was we had two more kills and three more digs. It was a slugfest," said head coach Anne Kordes.  "Hats off to the Cavs, who served us into the worst passing match we have had in a while and for us to hit .373 as a team is a credit to our setter, Katie George, with Janelle Jenkins pacing the way. When the pass is off the net, the pin hitters have to set up and they were scoring which is important for our confidence level. All our servers were great and to come out with more aces than errors was huge. We were just super strong from line. Serving great makes blocking good."
