Chloe Meester, Nayelis Cabello Earn ACC Weekly Awards

Meester was selected as ACC Offensive Player of the Week, and Cabello was named ACC Co-Setter of the Week.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The University of Louisville volleyball team earned a pair of Atlantic Coast Conference weekly awards on Monday afternoon, as outside hitter Chloe Meester was selected as ACC Offensive Player of the Week and setter Nayelis Cabello was named ACC Co-Setter of the Week.
The honors come on the heels of a stellar week for the Cardinals, who swept Dayton, No. 18 TCU and No. 9 Texas to improve to 5-1 on the season and climb up to No. 5 in the AVCA/Taraflex Coaches Poll.
Meester earned the first ACC player of the week award of her career by racking up 37 kills (4.11 kills per set) and hitting .531 for the week across all three matches.
After redshirting her freshman season in 2025, Meester has stepped into a feature role in the Louisville offense, notching double-digit kills in five of her first six matches of her collegiate career and hitting over .300 in four of them.
The sophomore began the week with a career-high 14 kills on 18 swings with no errors (.778 hitting) against Dayton on Aug. 31, adding four digs and an ace. She followed that performance with 10 kills on .304 hitting against No. 18 TCU on Sept. 4 before capping the week with a team-leading 13 kills on 23 swings with no errors (.565 hitting) against No. 9 Texas on Sept. 6.
Cabello earned her first Setter of the Week nod of the season and the fifth of her career after quarterbacking the Louisville offense to at least a .350 hitting percentage in each of its three matches last week.
The junior totaled 101 assists (11.22 assists per set) on the week, while also stuffing the stat sheet with 32 digs (3.56 digs per set), six blocks, five kills and two aces.
In Louisville's sweep over Dayton on Aug. 31, Cabello orchestrated the Cardinals to a season-best .487 team hitting percentage, dishing out 29 assists along with four digs, two blocks and two aces.
She then helped the Cardinals to a team hitting percentage of .412 against No. 18 TCU on Sept. 4, recording 36 assists, four kills, three blocks and notably setting a career-high with 18 digs. Cabello rounded out the week with 36 assists and 10 digs against No. 9 Texas on Sept. 6, leading Louisville to a .350 hitting percentage as a unit.
Louisville will return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 9, when they take on Missouri in their first match at the KFC Yum! Center this season. First serve is set for 7 p.m. ET, with the match set to be broadcast on ACC Network.
