The victory marks UofL's eighth straight win against the Eagles

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The No. 4-ranked University of Louisville volleyball team closed its road trip Sunday afternoon after sweeping Boston College (25-19, 25-21, 25-14) in Chestnut Hill, Mass.

Louisville (12-2, 2-0 ACC) continued its dominant season on the offensive side of the floor, posting a .391 hitting percentage with 47 kills while adding seven aces. Defensively, the Cards stuffed 12 blocks and tallied 40 digs while holding Boston College (10-3, 1-1 ACC) to just a .188 clip.

Opposite Kalyssa Blackshear surpassed the double-digit kill mark for the 10^th time this season, totaling 16 kills on a .483 clip. The sophomore has hit over .400 in eight matches thus far this season. Outside hitter Chloe Chicoine added 11 kills with a .435 hitting percentage, marking her 12^th double-digit kill performance and fifth match with at least a .400 clip this year.

Setter Nayelis Cabello added to her stellar junior campaign with 36 assists to help power the Cards to a .391 hitting percentage. She also notched six kills on a season-high .857 hitting percentage to round out her impressive performance. Middle blocker Addison Makun shut down the Eagles offense all day long, stuffing seven blocks to mark her third straight match with at least seven blocks. Libero Payton Petersen continued her dominant season at the position, leading UofL with 14 digs.

SET 1
The teams played even at 4 apiece through the first eight points, before BC broke away with a 10-4 run to gain the 14-8 edge. UofL flipped the script with a 7-0 run of its own that featured a pair of kills by both Chicoine and Blackshear to earn the 15-14 advantage at the media break. The back-and-forth affair continued as the Cards maintained the narrow edge at 21-19. Kills by Cabello and Blackshear boosted UofL on a quick 4-0 run to close the set and secure the 25-19 win. Louisville stuffed five blocks and held the Eagles to a .105 clip in the first.

SET 2
The squads played neck-and-neck for much of the early going in the second, with the score tied at 12 and neither team gaining more than a two-point lead through the first 24 points. Back-to-back kills by Cabello and Chicoine helped Louisville earn the slight edge heading into the media timeout at 15-13. The Cards shot out of the break with a 6-1 run to secure a seven-point advantage at 21-14, their largest lead of the set. Boston College answered with a 7-2 run of its own to come within two at 23-21, putting pressure on the Cardinals. Back-to-back kills by Blackshear shut the door on the Eagles and claimed the win for Louisville at 25-21.

SET 3
The Cards carried momentum into the third, jumping out to an early 5-1 lead. Boston College bounced back and the teams traded swings the next 16 points, with UofL maintaining the advantage at 13-9. A pair of aces by Meester powered a 6-0 run by the Cards to extend their lead to 18-9. Louisville held the Eagles at arm's length the rest of the set, cruising to the 25-14 victory. UofL's defense showed out in the third, stuffing seven blocks and holding BC to just a .032 hitting percentage to secure the sweep.
