2025: Nayelis was named ACC Setter of the Week four times in 2025. She was voted to the 2025 All-ACC First Team and won 2025 AVCA All-American Honorable Mention recognition. She was voted to the 2025 First Team AVCA All-South Region. She had a career-high 62 assists against Marquette in NCAA Tournament. She was voted to ACC All-Preseason squad and ranked No. 2 in the ACC and No. 24 nationally in assists/set. Her season and career-high was 53 assists vs. Virginia and she added 52 assists versus Illinois. She set a career-high seven blocks against Texas. She was voted Team Captain for 2025. She was the second-leading setter in kills in the ACC. Â In 20 matches, her setting had the Cards hitting .250 or better with a season-high .430 against Virginia Tech, .304 at Stanford and .336 at Georgia Tech. She had nine double-doubles; 21 matches with 35 or more assists and eight matches with double digit digs. She also had seven matches with two or more aces. Â Against Pitt, she hit .900 (9-0-10), and hit .538 vs. Duke (7-0-13). Her setting percentage was .394. Nayelis played in 127 sets as one of two setters on the team, playing in all 36 matches and starting in two. She shined as a freshman, recording 716 assists which led the team, and also had 10 kills, 23 blocks and 22 service aces. She tallied a season-high two kills against both Creighton and Nebraska. She recorded a season-high in service aces against Virginia and Purdue with three and added 210 digs as well. She led the team in assists 16 times during the season and recorded a career-high 44 assists in one game against Pittsburgh in the National Semifinal game. She had 20+ assists in 15 games this season and recorded an ace in 15 games as well. Nayelis added to her impressive freshman season by being named to the All-ACC Academic Team.Â
Prep:Â Nayelis Cabello is a 6-0 setter from Clermont, Florida, where she played for East Ridge High School under head coach Mayra Cuebas. Cabello also played club for Top Select Volleyball Academy under coach German Del-Valle and earned All-American status two times and was AAU runner-up in 2023 as a part of both teams. She was named an MVP at the Under Armour Next Selection Camp in 2022.
