Cardinals will collect donations at home finale on Oct. 30 in exchange for free ticket
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville men's soccer program has announced details for the upcoming "Cards Kick Hunger" food drive to benefit the Lord's Kitchen and help feed the hungry in the Louisville community.
The Cardinals will be collecting food cans during their regular season finale at Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium on Friday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m., ET against Wake Forest. Fans who donate a can will receive a ticket for free admission to the match. The goal for this year's food drive is to collect 5,300 food items and match the official capacity of Lynn Stadium.
Suggested items to be donated for the food drive included green beans, corn, mixed fruit, turkey or chicken broth, stuffing, instant potatoes and macaroni and cheese. All canned goods and non-perishable and/or monetary donations are greatly appreciated. Fans may also donate at participating organizations or at the Lynn Stadium training center during normal business hours.
Businesses and organizations are encouraged to participate in the "Cards Kick Hunger" food drive by completing this online form. After submitting the form, more information and details will be provided by a representative from the Louisville men's soccer program.

ABOUT THE LORD'S KITCHEN
The Lord's Kitchen was founded in 1988 as an outreach of Evangel World Prayer Center. This multi-cultural church birthed and nurtured The Lord's Kitchen from its start on Christmas Day 1988. Located at 2732 South 5th Street, Louisville, Kentucky in the shadows of historic Churchill Downs, The Lord's Kitchen has faithfully fed the needy, 365 days a year, 7 days a week, for 24 years.
The Lord's Kitchen's most recent addition to this outreach is our feeding site at The Corner of Hope which opened in 2010. It is located at 18th and Standard Avenue, one of Louisville's most economically distressed neighborhoods. It quickly gained community support and energized the neighborhood.
In addition to the two feeding sites, The Lord's Kitchen blesses the local community each year with a Thanksgiving Food Box Give-Away, and a Christmas Food Box Give-Away.
This year over 2,500 chickens and turkeys, 1,900 boxes of food were given to people in need. However, there is no relaxing on our end due to the needs of Louisville being so overwhelmingly insurmountable. We are stepping into more of the urgent needs to try to do a little more each month than we did the prior month.
Another annual outreach is The Buy A Coat/Warm-A-Heart event. This event is held each December and distributes hundreds of coats to needy children in the area. In 2015 Buy A Coat/Warm-A-Heart gave away 1,200 coats, and gifts.
