NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The University of Louisville men's soccer team concluded its regular season road slate with a 1-1 draw at Lipscomb on Tuesday night at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.
After a scoreless first half, both teams struck in quick succession midway through the second period. The Bisons opened the scoring in the 58th minute when Baxter Hurt converted off a feed from William Kennedy. The Cardinals answered less than five minutes later, as Olayinka Ogunleye found the equalizer in the 63rd minute — his second goal of the season — finishing off a corner from Leon Kondic.
Louisville outshot Lipscomb 18-15 overall and 6-3 in shots on target, controlling 52 percent of the possession. Kondic was a key creator off the bench, tallying two shots on goal and the assist on the tying score.
Goalkeeper Alex Svetanoff made two saves while going the distance for the Cardinals. Louisville recorded seven corner kicks and limited the Bisons to just three shots on goal in the match.
With the result, Louisville moves to 5-5-4 on the season, while Lipscomb stands at 1-8-5.
The Cardinals return home to close out the regular season Evansville on Oct. 27 and Pittsburgh on Oct. 31. Both games will kick off at 6 p.m. ET on ACCNX.
