Cardinals Close Nonconference Slate Hosting Evansville Monday Night
October 26, 2025 | Men's Soccer
Louisville is undefeated, 4-0-3 in nonconference games this season.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville men's soccer team plays its final nonconference contest of the regular season Monday night, hosting Evansville at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. ET on ACCNX.
The Cardinals will wear their pink kits on Monday for their annual "Pink Game" honoring Breast Cancer Awareness month.
The Cardinals (5-5-4, 1-5-1 ACC) look to build momentum heading into the final week of the regular season after earning a 1-1 draw at Lipscomb on Tuesday. Louisville is unbeaten in nonconference play this season (4-0-3) and has allowed just three goals across those seven matches. Head coach John Michael Hayden enters the matchup with a 3-0-1 record against the Purple Aces.
Evansville (4-3-8, 2-0-3 ASUN) enters on a three-match draw streak, most recently finishing level at 1-1 against Bradley. The Purple Aces have recorded eight ties this year, matching one of the highest totals in Division I, and are led by forward Andres Escudero with eight goals.
Louisville has dominated the recent series, going unbeaten in the last five meetings (4-0-1) and scoring at least twice in each matchup since 2014. The two programs met last October, when a late penalty in the 89th minute from Gage Guerra secured a 2-2 draw at Lynn Stadium.
Defensively, the Cardinals continue to be anchored by redshirt junior goalkeeper Alex Svetanoff, who has played every minute this season and owns a .778 save percentage with six shutouts. Louisville's back line has allowed just 12 goals through 14 matches—ranking among the ACC's stingiest defenses.
On the attack, Chase Vazquez and freshman Quinton Wilson share the team lead with three goals apiece, while freshman defender Nicholas Parham and sophomore forward Michael Lee each have two goals and two assists. Thirteen different Cardinals have recorded at least one point this season.
Following Monday's matchup, Louisville will close out the regular season Friday night at home against Pittsburgh. The game will kick off at 6 p.m. ET on ACCNX.
