KANSAS CITY, MO – The University of Louisville men's soccer team was recognized for its success in the classroom, earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2025-26 academic year.
The Cardinals posted a 3.65 team grade-point average during the academic year, surpassing the 3.0 GPA required to earn the award. Louisville was one of 335 men's soccer programs nationally recognized by United Soccer Coaches for its academic performance.
The award recognizes college soccer programs that demonstrate excellence in the classroom, with teams required to post a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher during the academic year. A total of 798 men's and women's soccer teams earned the distinction in 2025-26, including 335 men's programs.
Louisville's academic success was highlighted throughout the 2025-26 academic year, as 13 Cardinals were named to the All-ACC Academic Team in January.
The academic honor continues a strong tradition of classroom success for the Cardinals under head coach John Michael Hayden, who has guided Louisville to four NCAA Tournament appearances since taking over the program in 2018. Hayden's Cardinals have consistently excelled both academically and athletically during his tenure.
