
Yenney Named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Freshman midfielder Erin Yenney of the Louisville women's soccer team was selected as BIG EAST Rookie of the Week on Monday afternoon, while sophomore forward Christine Exeter was named to the league's weekly honor roll.
Yenney (Troy, Ohio/Troy HS) scored the first goal and what proved to be the game-winner in the Cardinals' 3-0 victory against Seton Hall on Sunday. She also helped Louisville post a 2-1 win over Rutgers on Friday and remain atop the National Division. Yenney has started all 17 games for the Cardinals this season.
Exeter (Pickering, Ont., Canada/Pickering HS) scored both goals in the win over Rutgers and added an assist in the victory over Seton Hall. Overall, Exeter leads the Cardinals with 11 goals this season, including 10 in her last nine games, and she has 18 career goals.
Up next, Louisville will close the regular season on the road at Cincinnati on Saturday at 7 p.m., ET. The Cardinals have clinched no worse than the No. 2 seed in the National Division in the upcoming BIG EAST Championship and will host a quarterfinal game on Sunday, Oct. 30 at Cardinal Park. The time and opponent for the game will be determined following the completion of the regular season this week.
