
Haig, Hunyadi and Women's Soccer Team Earn Awards

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - In the University of Louisville's annual All-Sports Banquet, the women's soccer team earned a pair of individual honors and the team was the winner of the Cardinal Cup.
Forward Kelsey Hunyadi was named female Freshman of the Year and Joanna Haig earned the highest honor bestowed upon a senior student athlete, the Ed Kallay Award.
The Cardinal Cup is an annual competition held among the 23 teams in the athletic department and is given to the team that has the highest level of attendance at the other teams' games.
Hunyadi was named Third Team All-BIG EAST and Soccer Buzz Freshman All-Region. She was second on the team in goals(5) and points (13) despite missing three matches due to injury. A member of the Boilermaker Challenge Cup All Tournament Team, Hunyadi was also named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week and BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on separate occasions during the season.
Haig was a Third-Team All-American by Soccer Buzz, and established school records for single season minutes (2,110), goals against average (0.47) and shutouts (12), as well as career GAA (0.48) and shutouts (20) in 2007. She finished the season third in the nation in save% (0.893) and fifth in GAA.
She was selected to the NSCAA/adidas NCAA Division I All-Great Lakes Region Second Team, Soccer Buzz First Team All-Region, All BIG EAST second team and was an ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® women's soccer First Team member.
One of 10 finalists for the Inaugural Lowe's Senior CLASS Award in the Women's Soccer division she was the 2007-08 BIG EAST/Aeropostale Institutional Female Scholar-Athlete Award winner and has spent time in the US Soccer under 21 National Team and the US Women's Under-23 team camps.
Haig has a 3.97 GPA in management, and contributed numerous hours to community service.
