PROVIDENCE, R.I. - University of Louisville forward Kelsey Hunyadi has been named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week after helping the 22nd-ranked Cardinals to a pair of victories.
The freshman from Dublin, Ohio set up the game winner in the Cards 2-1 win over Ohio on Wednesday. Hunyadi's lead pass to Lindsay Boling in the 86th minute clinched the win. She had six shots, two of which were on goal against the Bobcats, playing all 90 minutes.
Against Butler on Sunday, the Cards were locked in a scoreless battle before Hunyadi broke through in the 79th minute for the game winner. She has scored two goals on the season, both game winners, to go with her assist.
For the second consecutive week senior goalkeeper Joanna Haig was on the BIG EAST Honor Roll, and was also one of 11 players named to the TDS Women's College Team of the Week.
With her second scoreless effort of the season on Sunday, Haig now has 10 shutouts in just 19 starts in her Cardinal career - good for second in school history.
The Cardinals are 4-0 for the first time in school history and will face Wake Forest on the road Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. ET, a match that will be webcast live and on-demand on www.accselect.com.
