The No. 71 ranked University of Louisville women's tennis team fell 6-1 to No. 21 ranked visiting Kentucky Tuesday night at the Bass Rudd Tennis Center.
"It was a good performance tonight," said U of L head coach Greg Davis. "I thought Natalie Laszkowski played extremely well at No. 1 and pushed her opponent to the limit in the second set. I thought Bianca Gorbea had a great evening as well."
The Cardinals (3-8) were short-handed due to injury were down 1-0 to start the match, having to default at No. 6 singles. U of L battled for the doubles point with Bianca Gorbea and Jo-Ann Van Aerde winning 8-2 at No. 2 over Sarah Woestmann and Whitney Spencer. But Robyn White and Natalie Laszkowski could not hold on at No. 1, falling 8-5 to Kim Coventry and Joelle Schwenk.
In singles, Bianca Gorbea scored U of L's only point with a 6-2, 3-6, 10-7 win over Jessica Giuggioli at No. 4.
