Cards Claim Doubles Point in Loss Against Stanford

Peresypkina and Otis clinched doubles with a 7-6 (7-5) win
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's tennis team fell to Stanford 4-1 Sunday afternoon at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
The Cardinals (9-9, 1-9 ACC) clinched the doubles point thanks to a 6-4 win on court 1 from Berta Miret and Elena Noguero and a 7-6 (7-5) battle on court 2 courtesy of Alice Otis and Lika Peresypkina.
Stanford was dominant in singles as Otis fell in straight set on No. 1 with a score of 6-1, 6-2. On No. 4, Peresypkina lost 6-2, 6-1. Noguero fell on No. 2 with a final score of 7-5, 6-1 and Germany Davis was the final to fall with a score of 6-3, 6-2 on No. 3 to finish out the afternoon.
Rebekkah Gaines was the only Louisville player to win the first set. The senior was up 7-6 (7-5), 2-0 when the match was called.
Louisville will travel to Raleigh, N.C. to take on the North Carolina State University Wolfpack Friday, April 3 at 3:00PM.
