Cardinals Fall to No. 10 NC State

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. --Â The University of Louisville women's tennis team fell 7-0 to No. 10 NC State Friday afternoon in Raleigh.Â

The Cardinals dropped the doubles point to NC State  (16-5) which marked its 12th consecutive doubles point the No. 2-ranked Gabriella Broadfoot and Victoria Osuigwe b eat UofL's Berta Miret and Elena Noguero 6-0. On court two, Alice Otis and Lika Peresypkina fell 6-0 to the No. 73-ranked pair of Jasmine Conway and Anna Zyryanova to clinch the point.Â
In singles action, Alice Otis fell 6-1, 6-1 to No. 36 Mia Slama on court one. Amelie Smejkalova defeated Lucia Gallegos, 6-3, 6-4, before Tanasie delivered the clinching point with a straight-set 6-2, 6-2 win over Berta Miret on court four.

The Cards (9-10) head to Winston-Salem to face Wake Forest on Sunday as they conclude their regular season ACC slate.Â
