
Lower, Seng and Miller Earn Academic Honors

CLEVELAND, OHIO - University of Louisville women's soccer players Gina Lower, Amy Seng and Meredith Miller were named to the 2004 CoSIDA Academic All-District IV Third Team it was announced Thursday.
"These three individuals embody all that it means to be a student athlete," commented Head Coach Karen Ferguson.
"They do what it takes on the field and in the classroom, and are great role models not only for the team , but for all of U of L," Ferguson added.
Lower, a junior defender, carries a 3.815 GPA in accounting and also earned First Team All Conference-USA honors for her effort on the field this season.
Seng, a fellow defender who has played every minute of every match, is a sports administration major with a 4.0 GPA. The sophomore also earned Third Team All C-USA honors earlier this week.
Miller is also a sports administration major. The senior goalkeeper will graduate in May and currently holds a 3.708 GPA.
To be nominated for the Academic All-America team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore starter or significant reserve on her team with a 3.20 cumulative grade point average.
The District IV team is compiled from NCAA Division I women's soccer teams from Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee.
Following the Cards' 2-1 win over ECU on Wednesday in the first round of the 2004 C-USA Tournament, U of L will meet #1 seed and host Saint Louis Thursday night at 8:30 p.m. ET. Fans can follow the action on GameTracker on www.UofLsports.com.
