2016: Earned All-ACC honors and was selected in the first round of the MLB Draft while hitting .382 with seven home runs and 43 RBI in 46 starts and 55 total appearances during junior season. Hit safely in all three NCAA Regional games. Had three hits and scored once in title game win over Wright State on June 5. Was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI in June 4 win over Ohio State. Had two home runs and five RBI in May 25 win over Wake Forest at ACC Championship. Finished 3-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base in May 21 win at Wake Forest. Was 3-for-4 with two doubles, one RBI and scored twice in Cardinals' series-opening victory over Western Michigan on Feb. 21. Personal: Born William Dills Smith on March 28, 1995, in Louisville, Ky. Son of Mark and Julie Smith. Has one younger sister, Sara. Majoring in finance. After college, he wants to play baseball professionally. Biggest thrill in sports is having a walk-off hit. Hobbies and outside interests include golfing and being outdoors. Favorite movie is Remember the Titans. Favorite athlete is David Ortiz. Favorite cereal is Frosted Flakes. Favorite candy bar is Twix. Favorite food is rib eye steak. Favorite team is the Boston Red Sox. If he could eat dinner with three people he would choose Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods.
