2010: Missed the entire season due to injury and was granted a medical redshirt from the NCAA.
2009: Played in 40 games as a sophomore, including 12 starts. Hit .209 with four home runs, 14 RBI and 17 runs scored. Hit his first career grand slam on May 10 at St. John's, an opposite-field shot to right center. Making his first start since March 11, he made an impressive throw from right field to cut down a runner at the plate and end the inning in the Cards' win over Ohio State on May 6. Scored the game-winning run as a pinch-runner in the Cards' 8-7 win over Notre Dame on April 24. Had a stolen base and scored a key run in Cards' comeback win at Rutgers on April 19. Was 1-for-2 with the game-winning RBI single to left in the Cards' 3-2 win over Pitt in 10 innings on April 11. Scored the game-winning run against Ball State as a pinch-runner for Phil Wunderlich. Hit third career home run in March 7 win over Milwaukee. Had a hit and two runs scored in 12-1 win over Western Michigan on March 4. Added two RBI on a walk and a HBP in March 1 win over BGSU. Had career-best day on Feb. 27 against Bowling Green with his first ever two-home run day. Was 2-for-4 overall in the game with four RBI and three runs scored. Was 3-for-3 with three singles, two walks and a run scored in first appearance at the top of the Cards' lineup in win over EKU on Feb. 25. Earned first start of the season in RF against Florida on Feb. 22, going 1-for-4 from the plate. Was a defensive replacement in the first two games of the UF series.
2008: Started 16 games his freshman season, playing in 32. Scored 20 runs and was 5-for-5 on steals. Scored the first run of the game in the BIG EAST Championship win over UC on May 24 as a pinch-runner. Lashed a pinch-hit single against Rutgers on May 17. Walked and scored in win over UC on April 26. Drilled a pinch-hit single in win over Butler on March 26. Went 3-for-5 with three runs, one RBI and a stolen base against Kent on March 16. Belted a two-run home run against Xavier on March 11. After the coaches decided not to redshirt the Louisville native, they inserted him into the starting lineup and he sparked a sluggish offense with a 3-for-3 effort, which included a walk, stolen base, two runs and two RBI on a two-run home run in his college debut against NCAT on March 2.
High School: Named All-State, All-District, seventh region All-Star, Kentucky West All-Star and Kentucky All-State, earning four letters from the Shamrocks. Had 24 doubles, seven triples, eight home runs, 95 RBI, 104 runs scored and 73 steals in his first three seasons of prep baseball. Named Academic All-State. The Shamrocks advanced to the state semifinals his sophomore season.
Personal: Born on March 14, 1989, in Decatur, Ala., to Dean and Teri Holland. Has an older brother and a younger sister. Is undecided on a major at U of L. His dad is his greatest influence on him athletically. Lists sports in general as his hobbies and interests. The Kingdom is his favorite movie and House is his favorite TV show. Listens to all genres of music and cheers for the Braves. Favorite athlete is Chipper Jones. Likes to eat Italian food. His favorite quote is "The desire to achieve is important, but the will to prepare is vital." His dad played in the Yankees' organization. Would like to have dinner with Petra Nemcova, Yamila Diaz-Rahi and Marisa Miller. Is not related to teammate Neil Holland. Older brother Erich played baseball at Stetson.
