Amelia Swinarski Named to Preseason All-ACC Team

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Louisville women's soccer junior midfielder Amelia Swinarski was named to the Preseason All-ACC Team, the league announced Monday afternoon. The Cardinals were selected to finish ninth in the preseason poll, which was voted on by the league's coaches.
Swinarski is coming off a breakout season in 2025, where she led the team in goals, assists and points. She tallied 10 goals, 10 assists and 30 points on the year for one of the most productive offensive seasons in program history. Her 10 assists were tied for fourth in program history for most in a single season. The 10 goals and 30 points were the most by a Louisville player since the 2013 season.
The Cardinals are under the leadership of Hunter Norton in his first season after Karen Ferguson-Dayes announced her retirement back in February. Norton has been with the Cardinals for 11 seasons and will take the reins for the 2026 season.
The Cards are coming off their best season in almost a decade after tallying a 13-5-3 overall record. It was the most wins in the regular season in program history and they returned to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2019. In the first round at home, the Cardinals advanced in penalty kicks over Kentucky to advance to the second round for the fourth time in program history. The Cards set program records for goals (53), assists (60) and points (166) in a single season. Louisville also went unbeaten at home (10-0-2) for the first time in program history.
