Davis Named ACC Player of the Year, Four Voted All-Conference
May 18, 2026 | Baseball
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville baseball team had four players recognized with the release of the Atlantic Coast Conference yearly awards on Monday.
Tague Davis was voted the league's Player of the Year, the first Louisville player to earn conference Player of the Year honors since Brendan McKay in 2017 and the seventh all-time.
Davis was also a First Team All-ACC selection, as was Zion Rose. Bayram Hot was voted to the Third Team, while Griffin Crain earned a spot on the All-Freshman Team.
Davis put together the greatest power-hitting season in the ACC's storied history this spring. The sophomore finished the regular season with a .358 average, a Louisville and ACC record 34 homers, and a Louisville record 96 RBIs. He became the first player in Division I to lead the country in both homers and RBIs at the conclusion of the regular season since 2003.
Rose garnered first team honors despite starting just 34 games this season due to injury, in part due to his excellent numbers in conference action. In 25 ACC games, Rose was fifth in the league with a .390 average and tied with Lucas Moore for the ACC lead with 18 stolen bases in conference play. Overall, Rose closed out the regular season with a .410 average, 13 doubles, six homers, 44 RBIs and 23 stolen bases.
One of three Cardinals to start all 56 games, Hot had a terrific senior season. The Queens, N.Y., native hit .337 with 15 doubles, nine homers and 40 RBIs, posting career-bests in each of the latter three categories. Hot also swiped 17 bases and made just five errors at the hot corner.
After sitting out the 2025 season, Crain burst onto the scene this spring. The outfielder started 48 games, finishing second on the team with 14 doubles and 47 RBIs while hitting .355. Crain added eight stolen bases and had nearly double the number of walks and HBPs (45) as he did strikeouts (24).
The Cardinals begin postseason play on Tuesday with the opening round of the ACC Championship. Louisville takes on Pitt at 9 p.m. ET in Charlotte, N.C.
