Davis on Golden Spikes Award Semifinalist List
May 14, 2026 | Baseball
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville sophomore Tague Davis was named a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award announced on Thursday by USA Baseball.
Davis was one of 25 players on the semifinalist list for the award given to the top amateur baseball player in the nation. Former Louisville standout Brendan McKay won the award in 2017.
The 48th Golden Spikes Award will be presented on June 29 on MLB Network at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Davis is having arguably the greatest offensive season of any player in Louisville history in 2026.
The sophomore enters the final regular season series as the national leader in home runs with 34 and RBIs with 93. Davis has already set the Louisville and ACC single-season home run records and is just three off the NCAA Division I record during the BBCOR era (since 2011). He also has eclipsed Louisville's single-season RBI record.
Davis has hit many of his homers against top competition and in big moments. The West Chester, Pa., native has 19 home runs in 27 ACC games and is tied for the national lead with 12 go-ahead homers.
Davis and the Cardinals wrap up the regular season with three games against Virginia, the first of which is set for Thursday at 6 p.m. ET at Jim Patterson Stadium.
