ARLINGTON, Texas – The University of Louisville baseball team took a 10-6 loss against fifth-ranked Auburn on Sunday in its final game at the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

Louisville (3-4) will now return home for 14 consecutive games beginning Tuesday against Eastern Kentucky. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET at Jim Patterson Stadium.

Wyatt Danilowicz struck out three straight after giving up a leadoff single in the first. However, Auburn (6-1) would score single runs in each of the next four innings.

Trailing 3-0 in the fourth, the Cardinals pulled back within one with just one swing. Kyle Campbell singled to lead off the frame and Tague Davis launched the first pitch he saw into the Auburn bullpen in left-centerfield for his second homer of the weekend and third of the young season.

Auburn extended the margin back to two with a homer of its own in the fifth, but the Cards got a response from Campbell and Davis again in the sixth. The pair notched back-to-back singles to start the inning and Campbell scored on a sacrifice fly from Kade Elam to get Louisville back within one.

The bullpen would falter in the seventh though, surrendering five runs to put the game out of reach.

Danilowicz (1-1) allowed three runs over 3.0-plus innings in his second start. Jake Schweitzer turned in a strong effort in relief, giving up just a solo home run while retiring nine of the 10 batters he faced.

Campbell and Davis each had multi-hit games in the loss. Davis had a strong weekend in Arlington, going 5-for-12 in the three games with four extra-base hits, including two homers.
