Cardinals Continue Homestand with Coastal Carolina

Louisville is 3-0 during the current homestand
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville women's soccer team (4-1-0) remains at home this weekend to continue its current six-game homestand. The Cardinals are set to host Coastal Carolina on Sunday, August 31 to close out the weekend. The Cardinals and Chanticleers will square off at 7:30 p.m. ET and it will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
Last time out for the Cardinals, the offense continued to roll in their 9-0 win over USC Upstate this past Thursday. The Cardinals set a facility record as the nine goals were the most in a single game in Lynn Stadium history. The Cardinals tied the facility last week in the 8-0 win over Detroit Mercy. In the three home games this season, Louisville has outscored its opponents 24-2.
The Cardinals offense is one of the best in the country so far this season. Louisville leads the NCAA with 75 total points over its first five games of the year. The Cardinals are tied for the NCAA lead with 25 goals and tied for the national lead with 25 assists.
Sophomore midfielder Amelia Swinarski leads the country with eight assists this season. She has tied Lynn Stadium facility records with three assists in the wins over Detroit and Wright State. She also tied a facility record with a career-best six points in the win over USC Upstate. She ranks sixth nationally and leads the ACC with 12 points this year.
12 different players have scored a goal this season for the Cards and seven players have tallied multiple goals. Senior forward Mackenzie Geigle leads the way with four goals in her four games after she missed the opener with an injury. She has scored in each of the three home games during this homestand. Geigle is one of five players to record a brace this season and is joined by Karina Peat, Liza Suydam, AG Gibson and Swinarski.
