
Mackenzie Geigle Named ACC Offensive Player of the Week

The senior forward tallied three goals and eight points this past week
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — University of Louisville senior forward Mackenzie Geigle was named ACC Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon. She led the Cardinals in goals and points in a 2-0 week with wins over Detroit Mercy and Wright State.
Geigle tallied three goals, two assists and eight points over the two wins last week. The three goals were the most scored by any player in the ACC over the past week. The eight points were also the most points by any ACC player this past week. Geigle is the first Louisville player to earn ACC Offensive Player of the week since Emma Hiscock in 2023.
In the win over Detroit Mercy, Geigle led the Cardinals as she scored the first two goals of the season. It was her third career brace and the Cardinals tied a facility record for goals in a single game with eight in the win. In the win over Wright State, Geigle scored a goal and tallied a career-best two assists. The Cardinals set a facility record with 10 total assists against the Raiders.
Geigle currently ranks fourth in the league in points with eight and is tied for fifth in goals with three through her three games this season after missing the opener with an injury. Geigle and the Cardinals will be back in action Thursday afternoon as they take on USC Upstate at 3 p.m. ET from Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
