Arthur Albiero Named Head Coach for Team USA at World University Games

Julia Dennis, Caroline Larsen and Ella Welch made the roster for Berlin to rep the Cards

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- University of Louisville head swimming coach Arthur Albiero has been named as the Team USA head coach for the 2025 World University Games and he will be joined by three of his sprinters, Ella Welch, Caroline Larsen and Julia Dennis, who were named to the USA roster.

USA Swimming announced the World University Games roster of 20 men and 20 women. Fifteen different colleges will be represented at the Games.

Albiero will be joined by with assistant coaches Daniel Kalupski (NC State), Annie Lazor (Florida), John Long (Indiana), Trevor Maida (Texas), and Jake Shrum (Virginia) joining him.

The cities of Bochum, Duisburg, Essen, Mülheim an der Ruhr, Hagen, and Berlin are hosting the FISU World University Games Summer. From this July 16-27, more than 8,500 student-athletes and officials from over 150 countries will compete for medals in 18 sports – making this one of the largest multi-sport events in the world in 2025.
