PLAYER NOTES
HOME RUN TOTAL CONTINUING TO RISE FOR DAVIS
Tague Davis had a reputation for big power as a standout at Malvern Preperatory School, and that power has been on full display during his freshman season.
Through 31 games, Davis leads the Cardinals and ranks fourth in the ACC with 12 home runs after a two-homer day against Boston College on Sunday.
Davis is currently the only Division I freshman with double digit home runs and joins Alex Binelas (True FR in 2019) and Chris Dominguez (RS-FR in 2007) as the only freshmen with double digit home runs under Dan McDonnell.
CARDINALS AMBUSHING OPPOSING PITCHERS EARLY
The Louisville offense has been excellent this season and its done its best damage early in contests, especially over the last two weekends.
The Cardinals have scored 113 runs in the first three innings this season, including 24 in the Boston College series and 18 in three games against Cal.
Over the last six ACC games, opposing starting pitchers have recorded 38 outs (12.2 IP) while surrendering 40 runs.
LOUISVILLE FEATURES ONE OF NATION'S TOP OFFENSES
With the regular season now past the halfway point, the Louisville offense has been one of the best in the entire country in 2025.
The Cardinals rank top 30 nationally in batting average (9th), runs per game (19th), total runs (21st), on-base percentage (22nd), hits (24th), stolen bases (24th), triples (25th) and slugging percentage (29th).
Louisville ranks top four in the ACC in all the aforementioned categories, leading the way in stolen bases and triples.
CARDS RUNNING WILD ON THE BASEPATHS
Under Dan McDonnell, the Cardinals have been one of the best base stealing programs in the country.
This season is no exception, as the Cardinals enter Tuesday leading the ACC with 73 stolen bases. Louisville is 24th nationally and fourth among Power Four programs.
Lucas Moore leads the ACC with 24 on the season, while Alex Alicea and Zion Rose rank third and sixth in the league, respectively.

TEAM NOTES
- Louisville has an .819 winning percentage (186-41) in regular season non-conference games since the start of 2016.
- The Cardinals are 99-22 (.818) under Dan McDonnell against teams from the state of Kentucky (Bellarmine, EKU, Kentucky, Morehead State, Murray State, NKU and WKU).
- The Louisville offense has tallied double digit hits in 19 games to start the season, going 17-2 in those contests. The Cards notched at least 10 hits 29 times in 2024, posting a 22-7 mark when doing so.
- Louisville has scored 10 runs or more in 16 of 31 games this season, including each of the last six ACC contests.
- The Cardinals are 23-2 this season when outhitting their opponent and 0-5 when losing the hit battle.
- Louisville is 20-2 when hitting a home run this season.
- The Cardinals have more free passes as an offense than strikeouts, tallying 149 walks and 54 HBPs to 182 strikeouts.
- Louisville is 16-1 when it limits the opposition to five runs or less and 22-2 when its opponent is kept in single digits.
- The Cardinals have 11 come-from-behind wins this season, including four walk-off victories.
PLAYER NOTES
- Lucas Moore has been the ultimate weapon at the top of the lineup for the Cards. Moore leads the Cardinals and the ACC with 51 runs scored, second-most in all of Division I. The speedy outfielder is a perfect 24-for-24 in stolen bases, pacing the conference in that category as well. He also ranks fifth in the ACC in on-base percentage, 10th in batting average and 12th in hits. Moore owns a 29-game reached base streak and 16-game hit streak heading into Tuesday, both career bests.
- Tagger Tyson redshirted last season and began this year splitting time as the back-up catcher. With Matt Klein down due to injury, Tyson has been thrust into a starting role and been excellent at the plate. Tyson is hitting .353 with nine extra base hits in 51 at-bats. He is batting .458 (11-for-24) with four doubles, a homer and eight RBIs in seven ACC games, and he leads the Cardinals with a .643 average (9-for-14) with runners in scoring position.
- Eddie King Jr. went on the shelf with an injury just four games into the season and missed nearly three weeks. King returned to the starting lineup for the first time in the finale of the North Carolina series, but he has really heated up at the plate over the last two weeks. The senior is 13-for-26 in his last eight games, with four doubles, three home runs, 11 runs scored and 13 RBIs. King led the Cardinals in home runs and RBIs in 2024.
- Jake Munroe has made an immediate impact in the middle of Louisville's lineup. The junior college All-American is seventh in the ACC in batting average and runs, eighth in hits and triples and 10th in on-base percentage. Munroe has a hit in 25 of 31 games this season with 15 multi-hit games.
- Zion Rose has an exception freshman campaign that saw him hit .380 with 19 extra-base hits and 32 RBIs while finishing with more walks than strikeouts. The 2025 season has seen more of the same but with more damage. Rose is hitting .341 and already has 15 extra-base hits and 36 RBIs in 31 games. The increase in production hasn't affected his plate discipline though, as he has 11 walks and three HBPs to just 16 strikeouts.
- Wyatt Danilowicz missed all of the 2024 season due to injury, but has been outstanding in his return to the mound. In 12 relief appearances, the southpaw has allowed just one unearned run over 11.1 innings with 18 strikeouts. Danilowicz earned his first career save in the weekend finale against UIC, recording the final four outs.
