PLAYER NOTES
MOORE STREAKING THROUGH 2025 SEASON
Centerfielder Lucas Moore had a good freshman year in 2024, but he is currently in the midst of a breakout sophomore season.
Moore leads the ACC in runs and stolen bases and ranks second and seventh nationally in those categories, respectively. The sophomore enters Tuesday's game with 57 runs scored, only 15 shy of cracking Louisville's top 10 single-season chart with 20 games still remaining in the regular season.
Moore also enters Tuesday night with a 33-game reached base streak, tied for the seventh-longest at Louisville since 2000. He carries a 20-game hit streak as well, just the sixth Louisville player to hit in 20 straight since 2000.
CARDINALS PUT TOGETHER RECORD OFFENSIVE SHOWING AT NC STATE
The Louisville offense has been really good throughout this season, but no day was better than the 25-8 victory in game two at NC State.
The 25 runs were the most in an ACC game for the Cardinals since joining the league in 2015, and the most in any game since scoring 32 in a win over Alabama A&M on April 26, 2019. The 17-run margin of victory was the largest ever for the Cardinals in an ACC game as well.
Louisville's eight doubles and 21 hits were its most since having the same against Bellarmine on April 12, 2023, and its six home runs were the most since hitting six against Akron on March 5, 2022. The 14 extra-base hits were the most since the 2019 Alabama A&M game as well.
HOME RUN TOTAL CONTINUING TO RISE FOR DAVIS
Tague Davis had a reputation for big power as a standout at Malvern Preperatory School, and that power has been on full display during his freshman season.
Through 35 games, Davis leads the Cardinals and ranks second in the ACC with 14 home runs after his third multi-homer game of the season on Saturday at NC State.
Davis leads all freshmen across three levels of NCAA baseball in home runs and joins Alex Binelas (True FR in 2019) and Chris Dominguez (RS-FR in 2007) as the only freshmen with double digit home runs under Dan McDonnell.
CARDINALS AMBUSHING OPPOSING PITCHERS EARLY
The Louisville offense has been excellent this season and its done its best damage early in contests, especially over the last three weekends.
The Cardinals have scored 129 runs in the first three innings this season, including 24 in the Boston College series, 18 in three games against Cal and 15 at NC State.
Over the last nine ACC games, opposing starting pitchers have recorded 75 outs (25.0 IP) while surrendering 55 runs.
LOUISVILLE FEATURES ONE OF NATION'S TOP OFFENSES
With the regular season past the halfway point, the Louisville offense has been one of the best in the entire country in 2025.
The Cardinals rank top 25 nationally in batting average (7th), hits (14th), runs (15th), runs per game (15th), on-base percentage (21st), slugging (22nd), stolen bases (25th) and triples (25th).
Louisville ranks top three in the ACC in all the aforementioned categories except slugging, in which it ranks fourth.

TEAM NOTES
- Louisville has an .820 winning percentage (187-41) in regular season non-conference games since the start of 2016.
- The Cardinals are 100-22 (.820) under Dan McDonnell against teams from the state of Kentucky (Bellarmine, EKU, Kentucky, Morehead State, Murray State, NKU and WKU).
- The Louisville offense has tallied double digit hits in 22 games this season, going 19-3 in those contests. The Cards notched at least 10 hits 29 times in 2024, posting a 22-7 mark when doing so.
- Louisville has scored 10 runs or more in 18 of 35 games this season, including nine ACC contests.
- The Cardinals are 25-2 this season when outhitting their opponent and 0-6 when losing the hit battle.
- Louisville is 21-3 when hitting a home run this season.
- The Cardinals have more free passes as an offense than strikeouts, tallying 162 walks and 61 HBPs to 207 strikeouts.
- Louisville is 17-1 when it limits the opposition to five runs or less and 24-2 when its opponent is kept in single digits.
PLAYER NOTES
- Lucas Moore has been the ultimate weapon at the top of the lineup for the Cards. Moore leads the Cardinals and the ACC with 57 runs scored, second-most in all of Division I. The speedy outfielder is a perfect 27-for-27 in stolen bases, pacing the conference in that category as well. He also ranks fifth in the ACC in on-base percentage, ninth in hits and 12th in batting average. Moore owns a 33-game reached base streak and 20-game hit streak heading into Tuesday, both career bests.
- Eddie King Jr. went on the shelf with an injury just four games into the season and missed nearly three weeks. King returned to the starting lineup for the first time in the finale of the North Carolina series, but he has been scorching hot over the last three weeks. The senior is 19-for-42 (.452) in his last 12 games, with six doubles, five home runs, 16 runs scored and 21 RBIs. King led the Cardinals in home runs and RBIs in 2024.
- Jake Munroe has made an immediate impact in the middle of Louisville's lineup. The junior college All-American is fourth in the ACC in runs and triples, seventh in hits, eighth in batting average, and 11th in on-base percentage and RBIs. Munroe has a hit in 28 of 35 games this season with 17 multi-hit games.
- Zion Rose has an exception freshman campaign that saw him hit .380 with 19 extra-base hits and 32 RBIs while finishing with more walks than strikeouts. The 2025 season has seen more of the same but with more damage. Rose is hitting .350 and already has 19 extra-base hits and 42 RBIs in 35 games. The increase in production hasn't affected his plate discipline though, as he has 13 walks and three HBPs to just 19 strikeouts.
