Cardinal Divers Vie for NCAA Berths at Zone C in Columbus

Gizzi punches ticket in 1 and 3 meter springboard.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- After two days of competition at the NCAA Zone C Championships at Ohio State's McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion, University of Louisville diver Lindsay Gizzi punched her ticket to the 2025 NCAA Championships. The NCAA meet runs March 19-22 at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way, Washington. Â
In the women's 3-meter board, Lindsay Gizzi qualified 10th going into the finals with a score of 293.95. She advanced to the finals where she put up the combined score of 594.05 which placed her ninth. UofL's Samm Helmboldt was 19th with a score of 271.85 and Audree-Brazeau-Howes was 23rd after posting a 262.30.Â
On the 1-meter board, Lindsay Gizzi qualfied fourth with a score of 278.50 to advance to the finals where she finished fourth with a score of 563.25. Samm Helmboldt was seventh in the prelims with a 268.05 and then finished 10th in the finals with a 524.65 score. Audree Brazeau-Howes boarded a 244.45 to qualify 18th and then also finished 18th in the finals with a combined mark of 480.30.Â
Lindsay Gizzi will advance to the NCAA Championships in both the 1- and 3-meter springboard events.Â
On the men's side, in 1-meter diving Rayce Winn qualified ninth with a score of 321.90 to advance to the finals where he finished 17th with a combined mark of 600.45. Ray Preas was 21st with a 301.95 and Mack Molloy was 38th with a score of 239.20.Â
In men's 3-meter diving, Rayce Winn put up a 320.75 to qualify 18th and then finished 18th in the final with a 656.20. Teammates Ray Preas was 25th with a 302.30, Noam Kulbak was 30th (294.45) and Mack Molloy was 35th with a score of 280.10.
Platform Diving gets underway tomorrow morning in McCorkle at 11 a.m. ET. Â
