No. 5/3 Cardinals Head to Toyota U.S. Open

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's and women's swimming and diving teams will be sending select swimmers to the Toyota U.S. Open Championships at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swim Center in Austin, Texas on December 3-6. Competition is set to start at 5:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, while heats will begin at 9:00 a.m. ET with finals slated for 7:00 p.m. ET on Thursday-Saturday.
For the Cardinal men, senior Jackson Millard leads the way, recently setting a program record in the 400 IM with a time of 3:39.11 at the Ohio State Invitational, which ranks No. 4 nationally. Senior Guy Brooks will also make an appearance after helping the men's 200 free relay squad tie a school record with a time of 1:15.74 at the Ohio State Invitational, ranking No. 5 in the country. Tommy Bried, Jake Eccleston, Gregg Enoch, and Filip Kosinski round out the UofL men that are set to compete.
On the women's side, freshman Julie Mishler takes charge, after setting freshman records in the 100 free (47.51) and 50 back (23.88) at the Ohio State Invitational. Sophomore Caroline Larsen is also set to compete, as Mishler and her helped the 200 free relay (1:25.36) rank No. 3 in the nation, and the 200-medley relay (1:33.69) rank No. 4 in the country at the Ohio State Invitational. Daria Golovaty and Leticia Fassina Romao cap off the Cardinal women making the trip.
After each evening's finals at these championships, the results will be available at usaswimming.org/USOpen.
