Louisville lost 17-7 on Sunday.
Louisville (25-18, 10-11 ACC) fell behind early on Sunday and couldn't catch up.
Clemson (34-9, 15-6) plated four runs in the first and jumped out to a 13-1 lead after three and a half innings.
The Cardinals started to get back in the game at that point. JT Benson drove in a run in the fourth before Isaac Humphrey hit an opposite field homer in the fifth. Louisville then added four runs in the sixth, including a two-run double from Alex Alicea to get the Cardinals with 13-7.
However, Clemson answered with four runs in the seventh to get the lead back to double digits setting up the run rule victory.
Alicea drove in three during the 2-for-4 game at the plate. Matt Klein added three hits, while Ryan McCoy scored three times.
Louisville hosts Northern Kentucky in non-conference action on Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET at Jim Patterson Stadium.
