Cardinals Finish 15th at NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS -- The University of Louisville finished in 15th after the final day of racing at the 2024 NCAA Men's Swimming Championships Saturday night inside the Indiana Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI.

After 21 events, the national championship went to Arizona State (523.5) followed by California (444.5), Florida (378), Indiana (376), NC State (318), Tennessee (231), Texas (189), Stanford (177), Virginia Tech (172), Notre Dame (132), Georgia (116), Auburn (100), Ohio State (92), Michigan (87.5), and Louisville (84) to round out the top 15 finishers in the 38-team field.

In the 1650 freestyle, Ilia Sibirtsev earned All-American Honors with a time of 14:41.87, his lifetime best time. The event was won by Arizona State's Zalan Sarkany, who went 14:30.57.

In the 400 Free Relay, the Cardinals put up the fourth-fastest time in school history with a time of 2:48.55. Murilo Sartori led off with a 42.65 and turned over the race in fifth place. Guy Brooks was next in the water and split 41.66 to hand over first place to Dalton Lowe, who held the lead with a 41.77. Vlad Dubinin anchored in 42.47 for the win in Heat 4 and 15th overall. The timed relay was won by Arizona State as the Sun Devils put up a 2:43.40 for the win and secure the title.Â
