Women's Tennis Hits the Road for Matches with Marshall and Furman

 LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's tennis team is on the road this weekend, playing Marshall University on Friday at 12 p.m, and Furman University on Saturday at 12 p.m. Both matches will be played at Brian David Fox Tennis Center in Huntington, W.V.Â

This marks the first road trip for the Cardinals who are 3-1 at home including last weekend's 5-2 victory over Austin Peay. Louisville started the match by earning the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. Jamilah Snells, Lillian Mould, Germany Davis, and Berta Miret all won on their singles courts with Miret's win clinching the match for the Cards.Â

Marshall (6-2) is entering the contest on a three-match winning streak. Their most recent win is a 4-3 victory over Virginia Tech. The Thundering Herd took the doubles point highlighted by a 6-0 win on court three by the pair of Rieke Gillar and Gabrielle Clairotte. MU sealed the match by winning the first three singles courts to finish including wins by Aisling McGrane, Doroteja Joksovic, and Emma Vanderheyden. Vanderheyden's 7-5, 6-1 victory over Dariya Radulova on court two clinched the match for Marshall.Â

Furman (1-2) picked up their first win of the season on Saturday with a 5-2 victory over UNC Asheville. The Paladins took the doubles point with wins on all three courts. Sara Snyder, Maeve Thornton, Ellie Schulson, and Macy Hitchcock all picked up wins on their singles courts, highlighted by Thronton's 6-2, 6-3 victory on court two to clinch the match for Furman. .Â
