Cardinals Split Doubleheader Against St. Bonaventure

Louisville dropped the opening game 4-3 before a 21-3 win in game two.
Louisville (1-4) took a 4-3 loss in eight innings in game one before rebounding for a 21-3 victory in game two.
The Cardinals were in control in game one after three runs in the opening inning. Brandon Anderson drove home the first run of the game before a RBI double from Isaac Humphrey and RBI triple off the bat of Gavin Kilen.
However, that's all the Cards would get for the duration of the contest.
St. Bonaventure (2-3) pushed its first run across with a double in the fifth and then tied the game with a two-run home run in the sixth.
The seven-inning contest went to extra innings all square at three, and the Bonnies plated a run in the top of the eighth that proved to be deciding run.
Game two was all Cardinals from the beginning. Parker Detmers (1-0) put a zero on the board in the first inning and the offense pushed six runs across in the bottom half.
The Cardinals added two more in the second and another in the third before a nine spot in the fourth blew the game open.
Louisville kept tacking on runs with two in the fifth and one more in the sixth.
Luke Napleton went 2-for-3 at the plate, launching the first home run of the season for the Cardinals. Zion Rose, Brandon Anderson, Michael Lippe, Gavin Kilen, Korbyn Dickerson and Alex Alicea also had multi-hit games. Lippe and Kilen each drove in three in the win.
Detmers recorded his first collegiate win, allowing two runs over four innings of work. Mitchell Dean tallied the save with just one run allowed and four strikeouts over the final three innings.
Louisville and St. Bonaventure continue their four-game series on Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
