Cardinals Play First Home Game Against Marquette

Louisville is 8-2 all-time against Marquette, dropping the most recent contest.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's lacrosse team opens up their home schedule with a game against Marquette on Friday, Feb. 16. The first draw will take place at 12 p.m. ET.
This will begin an eight-game home slate for the remainder of the season, featuring five ACC opponents and three non-conference opponents. This marks the ninth consecutive season that the Cards play Marquette and the 11th all-time meeting between the two teams. Louisville is 8-2 all-time against Marquette, dropping the most recent contest.
Most recently, the Cards fell to No. 4 Denver (16-8) and Colorado (16-15) on the road to open up their season.
Nicole Perroni is already off to a hot start this season. Through the first two games, she has tallied five goals and an assist on 11 shots. Her four-goal showing against Colorado marked the 19th hat trick of her career. Playing 54 games in her career, the midfielder is currently on a program-high 38 game goal-scoring streak, which broke the previous record of 34 games. She is also on a 38 game point-scoring streak which ranks third in program history.
Sara Addeche has continued to guard the net through the first two games of the season. She has recorded 24 saves and a .429 save percentage in 120:00 minutes at the net this season. The senior's 14 saves against Denver and 10 saves against Colorado put her on a five game streak with double digit saves. It was also the eighth game in her career that she has recorded double digit saves. Addeche became the sixth goalie in program history to record 200 career saves, coming at the 6:07 mark in the first quarter against Denver.

Marquette finished the 2023 season with a 15-4 overall record and made its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse Championship. The Golden Eagles started their 2024 campaign on Sunday with an 18-12 win over Cincinnati at home. Junior Meg Bireley had a career-high seven goals on 12 shots. Tess Osburn tied her career-high with four goals on eight shots, all on goal.
