LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's tennis team battles until the end before falling 4-3 heartbreaker to Middle Tennesse on Sunday afternoon at Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

Louisville 3 - Middle Tennessee 4

Louisville began the second match of the day by dropping the doubles point after Middle Tennessee earned victories on court two and three. The pair of Alessia Truden and Lilly-Sophie Schmidt defeated UofL's Jamilah Snells and Allie Gretkowski 6-1. Cardinals Berta Miret and Lillian Mould battled on court two against Sana Garakani and Eloise Swarbrick before falling 4-6, clinching the match for the Blue Raiders.

Louisville earned the first singles point when Elena Noguero defeated Schmidt 6-2, 6-4, followed by Gretkowski's 6-3, 6-2 win over Swarbrick. Middle Tennessee evened the match at 2-2 with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 win over Snells on court one. On court two, Peresypkina defeated Cassidy Mataia 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 to give the Cards the lead. The Blue Raiders responded by winning the final two courts, first on court four where Ilaria Sposetti downed Miret 2-6, 6-2, 7-5 before Lena Peyer defeated Davis 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 to clinch the match for Middle Tennesee.
