10 Cardinals advance to finals
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- University of Louisville swimming put ten Cardinals in the finals after the second day of racing at the 2023 Phillips 66 National Championships meet today.
The long-course meters event got off the blocks today and run from June 27-July 1 at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis and serves as a selection opportunity for the 2023 World Championships, LEN U23 Championships and 2023 Pan American Games rosters.
Tristen Ulett posted a lifetime best and new Olympic Trial cut in the 200M freestyle with a 2:00.64.
Paige Hetrick posted a lifetime best and the 13th fastest time of the morning to qualify for the B-final in the 200 back, going 2:11.62.
Michael Eastman finished 44th in the 200 free with a time of 1:51.37.
Rye Ulett qualified for the D-final in the 200 back with a 2:14.98.
Nick Albiero qualified for the B-final in the 200 back, stopping the clock at 1:58.81. In the B-final, he touched fourth with a time of 1:58.39.
Jackson Millard went sub two minutes to qualify for the C-final where he put finished fifth with a 2:00.73.
Abby Hay posted the 11th fastest time in the 200 breast to swim the B-final, going 2:29.29. She finished 8th in the B-final with a time of 2:31.90.
Gabi Albiero qualified tenth in the 50 fly to advance to the B-final. Fellow flyers Tristen Ulett and Christiana Regenauer made the C-final in the same event. Regenauer went 27.09 and Ulett posted a 27.24.
Cardinal Forever Zach Harting was seeded fourth for the A-final with a time of 23.62. He was fifth in the A-final, posting a 26.66.
