Cards Travel to Ohio State for Midweek Matchup

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville lacrosse takes a brief pause from conference play to take on Ohio State at 4 p.m. ET at the Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium.
The Cardinals (4-6, 1-4 ACC) are coming off their toughest stretch of the season after facing three top five opponents in four games. The Cards fell to No. 1 Syracuse 17-5 on Saturday at the UofL Lacrosse Stadium.
Hannah Morris and Izzy Seikel led the way with two goals each. Morris was the first Cardinal on the board after the Orange came out strong with six straight goals to start the game. Nicole Perroni earned her 26th goal of the season on a free position shot. She added three ground balls, three draw controls, and three caused turnovers to the stat sheet. Seikel notched in two goals in the remaining four minutes of the game. Sara Addeche guarded the net for 25:38 minutes, recording four saves and one ground ball. J Pleck protected the goal for the other 34:22 minutes and earned four saves.
Perroni extended her goal-scoring streak and her point-scoring streak to 30. The Cardinal record for goal-scoring streak is 35.
About the Buckeyes
Ohio State (4-7, 0-3 Big Ten) lost their fifth straight against Penn State on Saturday, falling 13-3 in University Park, Pa. Penn State came out firing and scored eight unanswered goals in the first half. Annie Hargraves converted a free position to start scoring in the third quarter and put the Buckeyes on the board. Hargraves scored again in the fourth quarter for a career high two goals. Nicole Ferrara scored the only other goal for the Buckeyes to lead the team with 25 goals this season. Buckeye goalie Regan Alexander had 13 saves, one below her season best, including five in the third quarter.
Series History – Ohio State owns the season winning six of nine matchups, including all three games at Ohio State. Last season, the Cards lost a heartbreaker, falling 12-13 to the Buckeyes.
