Cards Set for Day 4 at NCAA Championships

KNOXVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville women are set for the final session of racing at the 2023 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving 6 p.m. tonight at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center.
In the 200 back, Paige Hetrick earned a second swim with her time of 1:51.84 and she will return this evening in the consolation final. Teammate Rye Ulett turned in a 1:53.07 just one spot out of the finals. The top seed will be Stanford's Claire Curzan, who went 1:49.48.
In the 100 freestyle, Gabi Albiero will be seeded second in tonight's Championship Final after posting a personal best of 48.66, dropping .06 from her entry time. Teammate Christiana Regenauer will join her in the Championship Final after swimming a 47.33 to qualify sixth. Freshman Ella Welch finished fourth in her heat with a 48.00 missing the consol final by .01 -- the narrowest of margins. Fellow frosh Julia Dennis posted a 48.32 in her prelim heat. Virginia's Gretchen Walsh boarded a 46.66 to vault her into the top seed position.
Abby Hay will be seeded sixth in the championship final of the 200 butterfly after posting a 1:53.21, dropping .30 from her entry time. Tristen Ulett swam a 1:53.85 to finish third in Heat 4. The top seed tonight will be Texas' Emma Sticklen, who put up a 1:51.71.
Diver Else Praasterink qualified fifth on platform with a score of 291.45. Milers Liberty Williams and Paige Kuwata are competing this afternoon in a timed final.
The Cardinals will also compete in the 400 free relay in the event that serves as the finale of the championships.
