The grad transfer played in all but one game this season
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — University of Louisville graduate defender Lucy Roberts was named to the All-ACC Third Team, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon. Roberts came to the Cardinals for her final collegiate season after playing the previous four seasons at USF and made an immediate impact on the back line all season long.
Roberts played and started in 17 games this season on defense and led the Cardinals field players with 1,441 minutes played. She played all 90 minutes in 15 games this season, including three of the Cardinals shutouts.
She scored her first goal with the Cardinals at home in a 1-1 draw with then-ranked No. 20 Virginia on Sept. 16. It was the first point the Cardinals had recorded against Virginia in their program history.
Her second goal of the season came in the 84th minute on the road against Boston College on Oct. 14. She headed home a corner kick for the equalizer in the 1-1 draw against Boston College. Her two goals were tied with four other players for the team lead this season.
Roberts is the first Louisville defensive player to earn postseason All-ACC recognition since Gabby Kouzelos also earned third team honors back in the 2020 season.
